Taught by an Idiot

Our participation, community engagement and education programme is called ‘Taught by an Idiot’. This title is a deliberate attempt to be somehow playfully subversive, to challenge the idea of who gets to do the teaching and who we think the teacher should be.  We have no interest in teaching anyone anything, rather we look to share, explore and provoke. All we ask from our participants is a sense of openness, curiosity, and the desire to play.

Our Taught projects are as integral to the company as our productions. They all embody our work, our ideas and our ethos.

We engage with all areas of learning from primary to university and beyond. We regularly collaborate with educational institutions to design workshops that are creative, practical and that make a meaningful contribution to students' learning. In our professional development workshops and projects, we are particularly interested in working with early career theatre makers, who are underrepresented in the industry.

All our work is anarchic and spontaneous and we strive to make it accessible to everyone and anyone.
